Hans M. Borge, Bunker Broker, Wilhelmsen Premier Marine Fuels AS, and Chairman of the Committee
Hans M. Borge was born 1940 in Tønsberg. He graduated in 1964 with a Naval Academy engineering branch. For three years he worked as an engineering officer in the Royal Norwegian Navy. After that he was a sales-engineer in ship equipment for four years and as a shipbroker for seven years, chartering and sale and purchase. Since 1979 he has been a bunker broker/trader in A. Anker-Nilssen and Harald M. Aagaard, later Wilhelmsen Premier Marine Fuels. Since 2009 he is semi retired. Hans has been a member of the IBC Programme Committee since 1985.
John Stirling
DNV
John Stirling, Business Development Manager, DNV Petroleum Services.
After graduating from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, BSc Chemistry, John Stirling moved to Norway in 1988 to marry. He started his DNV Petroleum Services career in 1989 in the laboratory, working up to acting laboratory lab manager in 1994 when he moved internally to combine fuel oil Technical Advisory/lube oil/hydraulic oil testing and reporting. From 1999 to 2005 he was responsibility for DNVPS Bunker Quantity Surveys in Scandinavia, Spain and Gibraltar and was a member of the DNVPS BQS Task Force given the task of internationalisation of the service. From 2002 to 2006 he was Customer Service Manager in DNVPS Oslo, responsible for many Scandinavian customers and their everyday needs. Since 2005 John has been a co-lecturer at DNVPS - Alfa Laval training courses and is a member of the Norwegian Ship owners Emissions Forum, where he was project manager of the low sulphur fuel quality “MARULS” project. From 2006 John has presented many occasions on behalf of DNVPS at various IBIA courses and conferences and has been a member of the association’s council/board since 2007. Additionally, he has presented at Lloyds List Summer and Winter schools, and the yearly Avoiding Claims Seminar.In April 2006 he took up a new position in the newly formed DNVPS Business Development Group, focussing on new business areas; specifically concentrating for the moment on DNVPS Total Fuel Management Solutions to reduce consumption, emissions and costs for DNVPS customers, in a project environment. John has been a member of the yearly International Bunker Conference (IBC) Programme Committee in Oslo, since 2005 and is also a member of ISO and CIMAC Fuel Work Groups.
Cathrine Bjune

Cathrine Bjune, Associate Professor, BI Norwegian Business School and Lawyer, MNA.
Prior to joining BI, Prof. Bjune worked with a well known maritime law firm in London, the Central Union of Maritime Underwriters and the Skuld P&I Club in Norway. She is a a frequent lecturer at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and has organised and chaired numerous maritime executive training programmes and seminars both in Norway and overseas. Prof. Bjune is also the author of a number of books and publications relating to maritime transport, law and insurance.

Gustav Vig was born 1946 in Vadsø. He has seagoing experience in the period 1971 to 1985, serving on board OBO-carrier, Liner, Cruise, PCC and combined Heavy Lift/Product Tanker. The last years at sea was served as Master on Heavy Lift/Product Tanker. He joined NOSAC in 1987, Wilh.Wilhelmsen from 1995, and has worked for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics AS from the establishment in 1999. Gustav has worked as bunkers planner on and off for 10 years since 1988, and is presently working in this position for Wallenius  Wilhelmsen Logistics AS.
Sveinung Juvsett

Sveinung Juvsett, Director, Bergen Bunkers AS
Juvsett started with Esso Norway , now ExxonMobil, in 1980. He spent his time with Esso in many different positions including cargo calculation and inventory measurement, fuel and bitumen blending. Her worked several years as plant supervisor before entering bunkers in 1992. Further on he worked as Sales Manager domestic market until 1998. After that he started at Bergen Bunkers as bunker broker and Marked manager. Since 2004 he has been director in the company and has continued active with trading and broking.

Terje W. Cook, Bunker Manager, Grieg Star Shipping
Terje W. Cook joined Star Shipping in 1974 and has been involved with bunker purchase ever since, from 1984 as Manager. He has experience from sea, working in the engine room. He has been a council member of IBIA since the start of the organization, but resigned at the GA in 2007.Terje has been a member of the IBC Programme Committee since 2003.
Carolyn Comer

Carolyn Comer, Global Sales Manager, Shell Trading – Marine Fuels
Carolyn joined Shell in 1998, having previously been MD of chemical distribution company in the UK.    Since then she has done a variety of roles in Shell’s Global Commercial business, including in sales, operations and business development.  She has undertaken postings in London, Ireland and Norway (as GM of Commercial Fuels in the UK & Nordics).  She moved to the Netherlands in 2011, where she runs Shell’s Marine Fuels business, leading a team of team of account managers based in Europe, Asia, Middle East and the Americas.

Chrysanthos Chrysanthou, Technical Manager, Louis Cruises
After graduating from Newcastle University in 1998, Chrysanthos Chrysanthou (BEng, MPhil) joined Louis Cruises (a leading cruise company in the Mediterranean) in 1999. Apart from fleet management, part of his responsibilities includes monitoring of fuel quality, claims handling, implementing fuel efficient practices and improving environmental performance/compliance of vessels.
Chrysanthou is a member of the Maritime Institute of Eastern Mediterranean, a non-profit institute recently established in Cyprus aiming to meet the challenges faced by the Maritime Industry paying a special attention on the growing demand for Education, Research and Innovation in this sector. This is Chrysanthou's first year as a member of the IBC Programme Committe.
Erik Bratterud
Erik Bratterud,Commercial Manager - Norse Bunker/World Fuel Services
Erik Bratterud joined the bunker industry in 1982 and was co founder of Norse Bunker in 1983 where he has been since. In 2001 the company was sold to World Fuel Services and integrated in their global network of offices. Since then Erik has been the office manager and responsible for the Norwegian market. Erik has been a member of the IBC Programme Committee since 1985.

Dax van Diepen, Quality Manager, Maersk Oil Trading
Dax finished the Maritime college of Rotterdam as a Maritime officer (BSc) with a specialisation in Engineering in 1995. He has sailed for almost 5 years Joined the Van der Giessen-de Noord shipyard in 1999 as automation/commissioning engineer. Mostly involved with the engineering and commissioning of the vessels automated systems including the handover to class, flag state and customer. After the shipyard closed in 2004 due to economical reasons he joined Total Lubmarine, where he became the Technical manager for Europe. In 2008 he joined Maersk Oil Trading as a quality manager. Dealing with all quality and quantity claims arising form the bunkering activity performed for the whole AP Møller-Maersk group, mostly responsible for the disputes rising from Europe to Asia, ensuring to minimizing our exposure. This is the second year Dax is a member of the IBC Committee.

Rolv Petter is Professor of Business history, and Dean of BI's Executive Programmes. He has lectured on international management at maritime programmes at NTU in Singapore and at Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Martime Transport, in Alexandria. He is also teaching at BI's bachelorprogramme in shipping. Amdam's research focueses on how Norwegian martime firms intergrate with the local maritime cluster internationally.

Sowmi has a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA and an M.B.A from Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Prior to assuming his present position, Sowmi has held a variety of positions in Research & Development, Supply & Trading and Marketing & Refi ning Planning within

Robin Meech
Robin Meech, Managing Director, Marine and Energy Consulting
Robin Meech is Managing Director of Marine and Energy Consulting, an independent consultancy practice focusing on the marine industry with an emphasis on the transport of energy. He has a particular interest in the bunker sector where he has undertaken assignments for ship owners, the Major Oil Companies as well as independent traders and national oil companies. He advises clients in the bunker sector on environmental issues, forming alliances, purchasing strategies, organisation, new business ventures, credit insurance, logistics, IT systems and e-business. He manages a company that advises ship operators on the selection, financing and risk minimisation of abatement technologies. Robin has also been a director of an independent tanker company based in Norway where his responsibilities included managing the purchasing of bunkers. Robin Meech is co-author of “Outlook for Bunker Fuel Oil and Heavy Fuel Oil to 2030” published this year. Robin has been a member of the IBC Programme Committee since 2007.
