The Centre for Applied Statistics and Econometrics (CASE) is an organized research unit within the Economics Department of the BI Norwegian Business School. The Centre is dedicated to the study of quantitative statistics.
Resent developments in quantitative statistics have moved in the direction of being more and more mathematically oriented. Thus, the theories underlying these methods are becoming less available to decision makers, researchers, and practitioners who apply statistics as a tool in their work.
The primary goal of the Centre is to bridge the gap between theory and practice. The Centre seeks to achieve this goal through research, education, and extensive corporation with businesses and public institutions.
