BI Norwegian Business School

The BI Norwegian Business School aims to meet the growing demand for graduates from financial institutions that operate in international markets. We do this by training students to understand how financial markets work and what is the importance of macroeconomic risk. The students will furthermore be trained in analysing the connection between economic policy and
macroeconomic risk.

The course portfolio consists of three courses from financial economics and three from macroeconomics. In financial economics the topics are allocation of wealth among equity and interest bearing instruments, the management of financial risk, and the adjustment to changes in interest rates. In macroeconomics the topics are forces that influence interest rates and how interest rates and foreign exchange rates are determined in an open economy. It is the combination of knowledge from these disciplines that are useful in
understanding and operating within international financial markets.
