In order for BI to have the best possible utilization of the 480 the parking spaces we rent, we ask that employees and students do not leave their cars parked for more than 2 consecutive days (work days).
To gain access to the no-charge spaces, the students must use their student IDs.
When arriving at the parking facility, you insert your card and if there are available spaces, you are let in. If all no-charge spaces are occupied, you can choose to pay.
You can choose between getting a ticket or using a credit card or petrol credit card. If you do not wish to pay, take a ticket stub, drive through the facility and leave within 10 minutes.
When the facility is full it is prohibited to wait at the barrier or to reverse. Repeated infringements may result in revocation of access to the no-charge parking spaces.
Automatic ticket machines are located at the stairway to building D and at the exits.
Attention: The same card must be used for entering and exiting.
Visitors with ID cards (students/employees) may enter the building through the elevators/staircases in buildings A, B and C. Visitors without an ID card, must enter through buildings A or D. Exit the parking facility either through the entry points or the exit signposted Nydalen Allé.
Students/visitors must exit through levels U1, 1 or 2.
Lecturers:
During the day, lecturers must park in the pay-and-display parking zone and get the cost reimbursed. Reimbursement is granted by submitting the receipt to the Student Administration or through the reimbursement station. In the evening (after 16:00 and during weekends) it will be possible for lecturers with ID cards to park in the no-charge employee spaces. Other lecturers use the pay-and-display spaces and are reimbursed.
Visitors:
There is no dedicated visitors' parking area at BI. Visitors may use the pay-and-display parking and access by foot via buildings A and D.
Others:
The parking facility is open to the general public and is used by visitors and tenants in the A and D blocks.
Handicap spaces are marked in the parking facility and are located near the elevators. In order to use these, you will need a municipal parking permit which must be displayed in the car.
If there are no handicap spaces available, employees/students who are entitled to handicap parking will be reimbursed for their parking cost. Reimbursement is made to the account number provided upon submission of the receipt and completed form. The form can be found in the right-hand column. Completed forms can be submitted in the main reception. A copy of the parking permit issued by the municipality must be submitted to the reception at the first visit and will be kept on file there. We recommend collecting receipts for a period of time.
Motorcycles can for the time being park free of charge in the parking facility in the designated motorcycle area. The designated motorcycle parking area is located at the entrance of D block and along the road toward A block, in both P2 and P3. The area will be cordoned off and signposted MC parking. Motorcyclists are NOT to use their cards, but drive past the barrier. If the card is used, you use a no-charge space for students/employees.
Students and visitors must adhere to the opening hours - see Europark
Employees have 24 hour access to the parking facility. Parking for more than two consecutive work days in the no-charge spaces is normally not permitted. Each parking space is equipped with a sensor and will notify Europark if a vehicle stays in the space for a prolonged period of time.
There are fourteen electric car spaces with charging stations, six located in P3 and eight located in P2, between B and C blocks. These are reserved for electric cars and electricity consumption is free of charge.
A reimbursement station is installed in the reception. The station is only to be used by the following groups:
- Lecturers (in the daytime)
- Disabled
- Employees of other colleges
The station must not be used by e.g. visitors or by employees who have forgotten their card.
This is how the station works:
- Collect ticket upon entry.
- Stop by the reception during the day, the reception inserts the entry ticket in the station. A barcode is written on the ticket, enabling you to exit using the ticket. Use is logged by the reception.
- BI is invoiced by Europark for the parking fee. Internal services will cover the cost.
Beyond this, it is the HR department who is responsible for the guidelines for the distribution of spaces and possible exceptions.
