For students

BI Bergensbaneløpet

BergeNSBaneløpet is a yearly relay where students at Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and BI Norwegian Business School (BI) compete against each other to gain the fittest school title.

The relay consists of about 110 splits with different lengths and elevations.

The relay was first arranged in 1973 as a result of the heated EEC-referendum from the previous year. At NHH, there was a great deal of disagreement in relation to this and the debate created a negative atmosphere among the engaged students.

Two groups were formed as a result; a yes and no side, with their respective leaders Jan R. Stavik and Alf Hildrum. After the referendum, they agreed that it was silly to waste time and energy against their peers and that this enthusiasm could be captalised on through this event, called BergeNSBløpet.
