BI National Case Competition 2018

Which BI campus has the best case team? At BI National Case Competition (BINCC) 2018 you will get the answer! Six talented teams from BI's four campuses will be challenged to solve and present two real business cases. The winner team becomes BI's national case champion.

A fun learning experience

BI National Case Competition (BINCC) aims to provide a fun learning experience for its participants. Fair play is an essential criterion in the case competition. All participants are expected to treat each other with respect.

Six teams from BI's four campuses meet in Bergen 31st October - 2nd November for three intense days of hard work, networking and social activities. Each team consists of four bachelor students. Each team must decide on a name for their team. The name must be neutral and give no indication as to which campus the team represents.

The warm-up case

BINCC consists of a warm-up case followed by a 12 hour case, which is the main case. The warm-up case will be sent to the teams one week before the competition starts. The teams solve the case and bring their solutions to the competition.

Wednesday 31st October at 11:00 the teams present their warm-up case solutions. The teams have 15 minutes to present their solution. followed by a ten-minute Q&A session. All teams watch each other present and the warm-up case is therefore an important learning arena for the participants. The jury consists of representatives from the case company and other relevant business representatives. The jury decide on a winner who gets a small prize, but the results have no bearing on the results of the main competition.

The main case

Thursday 1st November we will have a live presentation of the main case held by the case company. At 10:00 the case is handed out and the teams have 12 hours to come up with their solution.

Friday 2nd November at 09:00 the teams meet at campus Bergen for the BINCC final. The teams have 15 minutes to present their soltions to the main case, and 15 minutes to answer questions. The jury decides on the winner and ranks the other teams.

The winner and the runner-up will represent BI at the Central European Case Competition 2019 in Budapest, Hungary, March 17-23 2019 and the IE Business School: BBA Business Challenge 2019 in Segovia, Spain, Feb 20-22 2019, respectively.

And the winner is... ?

We invite all BI students and employees in Bergen to come and watch the BINCC final at campus Bergen and find out who's this year's champion!
