Unmasking the Shadows: Exploring the Dark Side of Construction Projects

In this talk, Tristano will discuss his current research on illegal and unethical practices in construction projects, including fraud, corruption, money laundering, and modern slavery. 

Tristano will discuss the challenges associated with a specific type of research, along with potential solutions. The focus will be on issues such as defamation risk, ethical considerations, and data collection. Tristano will also present his current research and invite people to collaborate on this emerging stream of research in project studies.

Tristano Sainati

Tristano Sainati

Tristano Sainati is an Associate Professor of Project Management at the Department of Leadership and Organizational Behaviour at BI Norwegian Business School. His academic background includes a BEng + MSc degree in Industrial Engineering and an LLB in English Common Law.

Tristano's research concentrates on infrastructure projects' legal, management, and financial aspects, specifically exploring Special Purpose Vehicles' incorporation and governance mechanisms in large engineering projects. He also has expertise in financing and contracting for infrastructure projects in the energy, nuclear, and sanitation sectors. His current research focuses on investigating white-collar crimes in projects, including corruption, money laundering, modern slavery, and fraud.
