The marketing student of the year is from BI

International cosmetics company L’Oréal has chosen a BI student for the 'marketing student of the year' Universum Award.

The winner is Cathrine Paulsen, a second year student in the MSc in International Marketing and Management programme at BI Norwegian School of Management.

- Many competent marketing students were nominated, and when the decision landed on Cathrine it felt right. Cathrine has a strong international profile after several exciting stays abroad, in addition to a good education. She has a “passion” for marketing and she is quite simply the marketing students of the year, says Hildegunn Bendiksen, HR Manager L’Oréal Norway AS.

- This was tremendously fun and a great pleasure, says the happy winner, Cathrine Paulsen. She came to the award ceremony by plane from Paris where is about to finish her one-year study stay abroad as part of her master programme.

- The award was highly unexpected, but I am proud to be the first winner of the marketing student of the year award. I am familiar with the prestige and honour this prize is linked with, especially in the economics category. Therefore I will thank Universum and L’Oréal for the contribution to making present and future students aware that marketing is an appreciated line of business and have great value, says Paulsen, who was nominated by her own sister.

- In addition to the honour of being nominated, this is also a golden opportunity for the students to show themselves to attractive potential employers, says Carlo Duraturo in Universum.

And Cathrine Paulsen will get her chance to do just that. The prize for the marketing student of the year is a trip to L’Oréals headquarters in Paris to follow the international marketing team for a few days. In addition, the winner will have the opportunity to enjoy a fantastic weekend in the fashion city of Paris, a city Paulsen now knows very well.

Winners were also selected in the categories of economics, technology, and IT. The nominees have been chosen by fellow students based on their commitment to the study environment and good results. Companies, as L’Oréal in the marketing category, award the winners in cooperation with Universum. The prizes are handed out at the annual Universum Awards, an event hosted by international research and consultant firm Universum.
