Andrew Pettigrew joins BI

Andrew M. Pettigrew has taken up the position as Adjunct Professor at BI Norwegian School of Management. He is widely considered to be in the elite of international research.

Andrew M. Pettigrew, Adjunct professor at BI Norwegian School of Management.Professor Andrew M. Pettigrew of the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford has taken up the position as Adjunct Professor  position at the Department of Leadership and Organisational Management at BI Norwegian School of Management. He will join the BI  Research Centre for knowledge management .

World Class Academic

Professor Pettigrew is counted among the world-leading academics in the field of organisation, leadership and strategy. His scientific production is impressive, and he has had considerable influence on research, scientific discourse and professional development in the fields of economy and management.    

Until 2008, Professor Pettigrew was Dean of the highly respected School of Management at the University of Bath. He has formerly held positions at Yale University, Harvard Business School, London Business School and Warwick Business School.

Professor Pettigrew is a Fellow of the British Academy of Management and was the first and only non-North American to be honoured with the distinction of  Distinguished Scholar by the US Academy of Management. He was also awarded an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in January this year for his services to higher education. 

In his current research, Andrew Pettigrew is particularly engaged in exploring the links between leadership, change and performance. 

International relations

The appointment of  Andrew M. Pettigrew as an Adjunct Professor is part of BI Norwegian School of Management’s continuing commitment to establish relations with scientists and scholars of a high international standing.

Earlier this year, professor Adrian Furnham of University College London was appointed Adjunct Professor at BI. Prof. Furnham is an international leader in his chosen  field of organisational psychology, as an author and a scholar.
