This number represents a dramatic increase compared with previous years.
“The BI Norwegian Business School is a Norwegian school with international ambitions. We are therefore delighted that so many international students have chosen the BI Norwegian Business School’s summer school to provide them with professional top-up,” says BI’s President Tom Colbjørnsen. “And we are even more delighted that, for the first time, every continent is represented, he continues.”
Nine of the students come from Australia. This is the first time our summer school has managed to attract students from that continent. Most of the students come from China and Singapore, though this year has also seen a sharp increase in the number of students from Western Europe due to a large group from the EDHEC in Paris.
The role of culture in communication and marketing
The summer school started on Saturday 26 June with an intercultural workshop and barbecue. On Sunday the students were provided with a sightseeing tour of Oslo.
On Monday 28 June, the lectures began and the students were welcomed by President Tom Colbjørnsen. The theme for the summer programme is “Culture, Communication and Marketing in Practice” and as well as lecturers from BI, several interesting guest lecturers from Norwegian Air Shuttle, Telenor, Jotun and the Gender Equality Ombudsman will be taking part. The summer programme, which is worth 7.5 credits, will end with an examination on Thursday 15 July and will be followed by a farewell dinner.
