“Knowledge is a renewable resource”

H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakon opened “A Knowledge Based Norway” at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo on 19 January.

Professor Torger Reve and Associate Professor Amir Sasson have analysed the future prospects for the most important business and industries and the results were presentet on the conference Et Kunnskapsbasert Norge (A Knowledge Based Norway) 19th of January 2012.

"Knowledge and competence increase when we share with others. Herein lies the real power of renewal in society and the basis for our future creation of value,” the Crown Prince said in his opening speech.

The conference on the future of business and industry attracted 850 participants from these sectors and from academia, public administration and other heads of society at BI Norwegian Business School.

In the study “A Knowledge Based Norway”, Professor Torger Reve and Associate Professor Amir Sasson have analysed the future prospects for 13 of Norway’s most important business and industry sectors. On Thursday, they presented a proposal for a new knowledge-based business and industry policy. Read more about the study here.

The introductory speakers included the Minister of Trade and Industry Trond Giske, the Minister of Petroleum and Energy Ola Borten Moe, Hydro CEO Svein Richard Brandtzæg, DNV CEO Henrik Madsen, Telenor vice president and NHO President Kristin Skogen Lund, Ferd CEO Johan H. Andresen, CEO of the Grieg Group Elisabeth Grieg and DNB CEO Rune Bjerke.
