BI Norwegian Business School receives prestigious prize

17 March 2014

Together with Nanyang Technological University (NTU), BI Norwegian Business School receives an award for outstanding cooperation and knowledge exchange in the last 12 years between Singapore and Norway.

The award is given by the Norwegian Business Association Singapore (NBAS) to an individual, company or institution who has distinguished themselves and demonstrated a significant commitment to enhancing the bilateral trade, investment and business relations between Norway and Singapore.

Exchange of students important

NTU has worked very closely with BI in terms of research, development and knowledge building, particularly in the maritime sector. In addition to the extensive student exchange collaboration between Norway and Singapore, the partnership has included the development and implementation of joint BSc, MSc and EMBA programmes specializing in the maritime sector.

BI currently offers both EMBA in Energy Management and EMBA in Shipping and Offshore in collaboration with NTU, and this fall over 90 bachelor students in the maritime studies will spend a mandatory semester at BI in Oslo, where they will collaborate closely with the business community.

– It is our impression that the NTU students have appreciated the experience of Norwegian environment and Nordic culture in addition to the competence programs during their stay in Norway, says Erik Borgen, President of NBAS.
