Number of citations is a key measure of scientific quality. It indicates the impact a paper or researcher has on a scientific field.
A study headed by the University of Stanford has analyzed the database for scientific publications Scopus and compiled a list of the top 2 percent of global researchers.
Researchers are listed according to two measures, career long impact and single year impact.
BI Norwegian Business School appears with nine faculty members on the ranking for number of citations during their entire academic careers, and 14 faculty members on the ranking for number of citations for 2019. The list includes full time faculty and adjunct faculty.
“This is a new ranking, focusing on the top 160,000 researchers in any scientific field in terms of citations. I am very pleased to see that several of the researchers at BI Norwegian Business School are among the world's most cited. This demonstrates the importance and relevance of research at BI,” says Provost for Research and Academic Resources Hilde C. Bjørnland.
