BI joins Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium (NORA)

28 October 2021

The consortium aims to strengthen research, education and innovation within artificial intelligence, machine learning and robotics.

Researchers increasingly use artificial intelligence to gain new insights, not least within the disciplines of economics, finance, marketing, communication, management, entrepreneurship, law and the social sciences.

BI has already committed to breaking new ground in this area with the establishment of the Department of Data Science and Analytics and the research centre Simula@BI.

On November 1st, BI also joins the Norwegian Artificial Intelligence Research Consortium (NORA). NORA was founded in 2018 and consists of 15 partners from the research and higher education sectors.

"NORA connects BI to the wider AI research network in Norway. It will be an important platform for larger cross-disciplinary initiatives at the intersection of AI and other disciplines at BI and for fundamental research within data science and AI," says Provost for Research & Academic Resources Hilde C. Bjørnland.

The University of Oslo, the University of Bergen, SINTEF, the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, OsloMet and Simula Research Laboratory are among the other members.
