BI honored for its academic excellence

18 November 2024

AACSB renews BI’s business accreditation for an additional five-year period. BI thereby upholds its prestigious "Triple Crown" status, which is currently held by only the top one percent of business schools worldwide.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation is a mark of distinction awarded to business schools that meet the highest standards of quality and excellence. To achieve and maintain this accreditation, institutions must fulfill nine rigorous standards focused on mission alignment, strategic management, innovation, learner success, thought leadership, engagement, and societal impact.

"We are immensely proud of this reaccreditation, which reaffirms our standing among the top business schools globally.  Students can be sure that they get an education and diploma of the highest international standards, which is recognized and respected by employers worldwide. Accreditation also assures students that BI has been thoroughly evaluated and meets the rigorous criteria set by external accrediting bodies, " says Karen Spens, President at BI Norwegian Business School.

International standards

AACSB accreditation is known worldwide as the longest-standing and most recognized form of specialized accreditation that an institution and its business programs can earn. Achieving accreditation is a process of dedication and peer-reviewed evaluation to assess if BI’s quality maintains the high standards needed for reaccreditation, and to what degree the school has been committed to continuous improvement.

“The accreditation process contributes to our ability to remain competitive, innovate and deliver attractive programmes. This achievement speaks to the hard work of our organization and our objective to deliver world class business education and research with an impact, “says Spens.

Today, a total of 1,037 institutions across 65 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business.

“AACSB congratulates each institution on their achievement,” says Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB in a press release from AACSB. “Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education.”
