President invites: Svein Tore Holsether

Yara International is a global company where profitability, sustainability and global social responsibility are important concepts in the company strategy. Svein Tore Holsether has been referred to as «a role model in understanding sustainable business» by Director General of the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprise (NHO), Kristin Skogen Lund. Mr. Holsether will give us insight into the opportunities and challenges Yara International faces today. He will also give advice to our students on the values and skills needed when entering the job market.

Svein Tore Holsether (born 1972) has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Yara International since September 2015. Before becoming President and CEO of Yara, Mr. Holsether held the position as President and CEO of Sapa AS. Prior to this he was EVP M&A Orkla 2010-2011, Business Area President Sapa Asia & Middle East 2010, CFO Sapa AB 2007-2010, CFO Orkla Specialty Materials 2006-2007, CFO Elkem ASA 2005-2006, CFO Elkem ASA North American Division 2003-2005, and various positions within the Elkem group including Vice President Group Control, Group Controller, Group Financial Analyst 1997-2003. Holsether holds a BSc degree in Finance & Management from the University of Utah, USA.

‘President invites’ is a series of lectures at BI Norwegian Business School where President Inge Jan Henjesand invites senior executives in Norwegian business and politics to speak to our students.
