At first you might find Norwegians shy and difficult to get to know. And it can be confusing to see how the same people can be among the happiest and most productive employees in the world. But don’t judge a book by its cover.
Most Norwegians don’t like small talk. When we talk, we tend to be straight shooters. Luckily most of us warm up after a while, and relationships are built over time. A tip is to do an activity with us – that often gets the conversation going. We usually enjoy nature, coffee, alcohol, culture and strolls along, well, wherever. And you don’t need to worry about the language barrier. Although we have a distinct accent, most of us speak English fairly well.
