BI continues its partnership with Akademika

23 March 2018

BI works for students and employees to have the best offers regardless of campus and mode of study. This also applies to bookshop services. Our students will get what they need when they need it.

In the strategy for 2015-2018, BI has set the goal of increasing efficiency through digitization. The digital shift at BI affects several delivery areas, including bookshops.

BI has come a long way in allocating resources from physical distribution to support digital distribution and use of i.e. teaching materials. Due to the changing need for delivery models at our campuses, the agreement with Akademika was terminated on 31.07.2017.

BI has now chosen to withdraw the termination as the parties have agreed on terms that ensure the students' requirements for equivalent bookshop offers regardless of the delivery model.

A new online bookshop solution will be complete and ready to operate from August 1, 2018.

- BI's two student associations SBIO and BIS are very pleased that there will be the same bookshop service across all campuses. We have also got acceptance for curriculum literature being offered as single titles at competitive prices and with quantitative discounts, both online and in physical stores, says Emil Lundal, Head of Student Association at BI - campus Oslo.

CEO of Akademika Arnstein Bjørke has this to say about the new cooperation:
- The ambitions and expectations that BI have assumed in the procurement process have been a driving force for further development of our delivery concepts. We want to help BI continue to be a leading business school in Europe by providing good digital solutions and physical bookstore services. Through a good collaboration with BI, we will further develop the offer, in line with BI's employees and students' wishes, needs and experiences.
