New FT ranking: BI among the 100 best

10 September 2018

BI Norwegian Business School’s MSc in Business programme ranks 87 on the Financial Times’ global ranking of the 100 best Masters in Management programmes 2018.

“We are pleased to retain our position in the Financial Times’ ranking, particularly as this year’s list features the 100 best Masters in Management, an expansion from the 95 programmes listed last year. It is imperative to see the list in a larger context where the school’s academic quality is also measured against accreditation standards, says president of BI”, Inge Jan Henjesand.

Among the criteria assessed were the graduate`s salary and career development, as well as international experience while studying. The ranking also examines the proportion of women and foreigners on the board, among faculty and the student body.

– BI has a clear ambition to climb in the Financial Times ranking. This is important because it will enhance our ability to attract the best faculty and the best students on the international arena, which in turn makes us a more attractive partner for business and industry and other educational institutions in an increasingly globalized world, says Henjesand.

Janicke Rasmussen, Dean Master at BI, says: "The ranking demonstrates that BI is among the leading business schools in the world. For our students this means that their diploma represents outstanding quality, and for the business community it confirms that they get the best skills and talent when recruiting from BI.”

About the ranking:

FT has 9 program rankings, and BI participates in five of these: Masters in Finance, Masters in Management, Executive Education - Open, Executive Education - Customized, Executive MBA, and the European business schools ranking. The ranking of Masters in Management Studies (BI`s MSc in Business) is based on the graduate’s salary and career development, international experience during the programme and the proportion of women and foreigners on the board, among faculty and the student body.
