BI offers all students online teaching

11 March 2020

BI will offer all students online teaching alternatives instead of classroom teaching as an effort to reduce the risk of infection of the coronavirus.

Effective from Thursday 12 March, all lectures at BI are cancelled, and students will instead be offered online teaching, such as webinars, streaming, and films.

“The safety and well-being of our faculty, staff and students is our number one priority. While there are no reported cases of COVID-19 at BI, we want to contribute to prevent the spread of the coronavirus to our campuses, and to the society as a whole,” says Inge Jan Henjesand, President at BI Norwegian Business School.

BI also facilitates contact-reducing measures for employees through the opportunity to work from home wherever possible. These are necessary measures to safeguard the health and safety of our students and staff, and to follow the advice given by the Norwegian health authorities to reduce the risk of infection.

The campuses are still open for the students to study and prepare for their exams. Students and BI employees will receive frequent updates regarding the coronavirus situation and the various measures BI are implementing.

In January, BI established a task force to prepare contingency plans for how the corona virus can affect the school's operation and teaching, and to be able to take necessary measures on campus if students and/or staff are infected or quarantine.
