Centre for Business History at BI Norwegian Business School are pleased to invite to a cross-disciplinary research seminar with professor Rika Fujioka.

Fujioka is Professor of Macro-marketing at Kansai University, Japan, and is currently visiting scholar of Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands. While her academic base lies in marketing, Rika's research activities have extended into business history. Rika is a council member of both the Business History Society of Japan and the Japan Society of Marketing and Distribution. She is now a principal investigator for a project on 'Changing Competitiveness of Japanese Retailers and Fashion Industry under Globalisation', which is supported by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. She has published widely on globalisation and the history of retailers.

At the seminar Fujioka will present a paper on "The democratisation of luxury and the expansion of the Japanese market, 1960–2010".
