Study Abroad Year at American College of Norway

Enrol in the Study Abroad Year at the American College of Norway to fulfil the requirement for a year of university at the bachelor’s level.

Then the transition to BI Norwegian Business School the following year will be a straightforward and easy process.

Located in Moss, Norway (40 minutes by train from Oslo), the American College of Norway (ACN) offers bachelor level courses delivered by visiting faculty members from top US universities. You will take your classes at ACN in Norway, but your transcript will be issued by the University of North Dakota.

Students from Norway and around the globe enrol in the one-year programme. ACN also welcomes exchange students for one semester. The curriculum and extra-curricular activities, designed to give insight into Norwegian culture, include travel courses to explore Norway and no classes on Fridays featuring cultural and social activities.

Successful completion of 30 American credits (equivalent to 60 ECTS) will make students eligible to apply for a bachelor’s degree programme at BI Norwegian Business School.

Application and Admission

Applicants apply directly to the American College of Norway and will be admitted as non-degree seeking students at the University of North Dakota. Deadline to Apply to American College of Norway

June 1, to allow for sufficient time for admission to ACN and then to apply for a study permit. ACN will provide guidance on applying for a study permit after admission.

In the spring of your academic year at ACN, you can apply to BI for admission for the upcoming autumn. BI recruitment staff will be on hand to guide you through this process.
