Introduction
The main objective of the course is to enable students to raise investor capital for a start-up company. The course will provide students with skills so that they are equipped to perform this process in practice. This involves being able to lead this process, assess the value of the company and understand the investors' perspectives.
Lectures, student presentations and discussions are planned.
Course content
- Part 1: Budgeting and forecasting, present value calculations, required returns and risk, profitability analysis and valuation of start-up companies.
- Part 2: Sources of capital and capital requirements, managing capital raising processes, team composition and shareholder agreements, and organizing for future growth.
