Winter School in Empirical Research Methods

Join us this winter between 7-18 January 2019, and choose courses that suit your needs and field of work.

About the Winter School

As academic professionals and employees, research methodology is our most important tool. Therefore, each winter we offer eight intensive and comprehensive courses, thought by international experts in their field. Enhance your skills and get up-to-date insight and applied knowledge in qualitative and quantitative methods.

GSERM stands for Global School in Empirical Research Methods, and was founded by the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. GSERM has been running in Oslo since 2016 in close collaboration with BI Norwegian Business School.

WHO IS IT FOR?

As the host, we welcome PhD students, postdocs, graduate students, and professionals working outside of academia, to BI’s campus in Oslo. Our courses are relevant to all academic backgrounds, institutions, and fields of work. Practitioners who, for example, work with consulting, analytics, and human recourses will get relevant and practical knowledge that they can apply in their daily work life. Enhance your empirical research skills and build strong networks with people from different parts of the world and work fields.

HOW IS THE PROGRAMME STRUCTURED?

We offer eight different courses in a period of two weeks, and each GSERM course runs for five weekdays. You can choose one or two courses, depending on your interests and needs.

Week 1

Week 2

“Within two weeks you get the whole content that you would normally cover within a semester or two, which is a really intense and comprehensive way of studying”
 Anna Olszewska, GSERM Oslo 2017

During your time with us you will also experience the magic of Oslo and Norway through a varied social programme.

We welcome you to join us this winter for an effective and rich learning experience.
