The Changing Maritime Industry
Norwegian Business School BI, Campus Bergen was the host for the first 2-days module that took place on 26-27 September this year. 24 eager participants joined from 15 different companies in the maritime sector. Topics covered were strategic leadership, PESTEL tool, macro conditions, overview maritime industry and ecosystems.
A live case together with Grieg Maritime had been prepared, and on day 2 we welcomed the CEO, Matt Duke to join for an inspirational session where the participants probed into the strategy for green ammonia.
In November the participants gathered in Oslo to continue the journey. Topics ranged from strategy under uncertainty, strategic resources, business models & value creation and shipping finance. To bring the participants outside their comfort zone, they also got a crash course in communication.
We were also fortunate to have Thomas Wilhelmsen, CEO Wilhelmsen group visit us. This was a stimulating live case with engaging discussions on how to attract the right competence to the industry, to drive innovation into new business segments.
Customizing executive programs to the needs of an industry makes them more relevant and impactful. Combining the context-specific demand from the industry with leading research, top-notch faculty and a good program design is something BI is good at.
