#NORA signs global declaration, joining major international mobilization in communication to tackle the pandemic and the climate crisis.

In the face of the current pandemic and other global challenges, such as the climate crisis, #NORA proudly endorses the International declaration of communications professionals and researchers for a healthier, viable, better world.

The declaration is driven by an international group of communication specialists and researchers and is sponsored by the Network of UNESCO Chairs in Communication (ORBICOM). The declaration is a commitment to humanist values that aims to mobilize broad solidarity throughout the world. By endorsing the declaration, members of the professional and scientific communication communities publicly commit to putting their expertise to work in supporting societies for the necessary transition to healthier values. Oumar Kane, ORBICOM Secretary General and professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal says: “In these uncertain times, communication must emerge as a force that can nourish hope, action and social resilience. It is clear to us that inaction and withdrawal have no place in the face of the emergencies of our time.”

By joining this global rally, #NORA hopes to contribute to foreground and leverage the central role of communications to help redefine our vision of a better future. By endorsing the declaration, #NORA publicly commits to apply its knowledge and know-how in communication to the service of a harmonious transition towards a healthier, more viable and better world.
