Social media puts enormous pressure on organizations to develop a voice on new platforms. However, the dynamics, particularities, and sometimes oddities of ever new platforms pose an enigma to many established communicators.
Our speaker for this morning, Dr. Johannes Passmann, has researched extensively the engagement with new media and social media platforms. He will talk about what organizations do right that outperform in social media and discuss how communicators can master the challenges of ever new platforms by reliying on generic principles of sucess in social networks.

Dr. Johannes Paßmann is research associate of the Digital Media & Methods team at Siegen University. He received his doctorate in 2016 with a thesis on Twitter in Germany that explored the interrelation between Twitter's software history, its user practices, and third party developers creating apps on top of Twitter. Johannes was a research fellow at Locating Media, a postgraduate program funded by the German research foundation, worked as a lecturer in the Department of Media & Culture Studies at Utrecht University, and was research assistant at Siegen University's German Department.
