What is digitization, how does digitization influence markets and strategies, and what can companies do to adapt to digital competition and exploit digital technology?

Some of the executive courses and seminars arranged by members of the center. Those where the working language will be (mostly) English are highlighted:

  • Digitization for growth and innovation. This four-day program is a collaboration between the Center for Digitization and Accenture's Technology and Social Media Labs in Sophia Antipolis, France. The program convenes senior managers who are concerned iwth digitization for demonstrations of various technologies for use in their own organizations, presentations on digitization, innovation and strategy, as well as formal and informal discussions of what digitization means for their businesses and for them personally.

  • Business understanding for technologists. This three-day program is offered as an open program at BI Norwegian business school. It is also offered - if desired, in English - as an internal, tailored workshop for companies. The program details technology evolution, strategic impact of technology, innovation processes and business case development.

  • Strategisk forretningsutvikling og innovasjon. This EMM (Executive Master of Management) program is offered in five modules, each of 3-4 days, starting in September each year. It is aimed at managers and business developers who wants to develop and implement an innovative idea (mostly using some form of information technology) within an existing organization (though we have had some ideas that have become companies in their own right. The idea is that each student brings in an idea, and then develop it together with other students in groups. Companies are encouraged to send two- or three-person teams with an idea they want developed, with the teachers offering coaching throughout the course. This program has been offered for many year, has an active alumni group of over 200 members that meet regularly, and has been the source of a number of new services, products and business innovations in Norway.

  • Analytics for strategic managementis a new EMM (Executive Master of Managment) program which will be first offered starting in February 2017. It has been developed by Chandler Johnson, Alessandra Luzzi and Espen Andersen. Offered in English, the program introduces Big Data to executives wishing to become sophisticated customers of advanced data analytics services.
