Increased student learning online
How can a digital system support student learning also between the lectures?
At BI, the tool for posting lecture materials and messages is itslearning. It is also used for work requirements, and to a degree to create student activity between lectures. Some lecturers also use Facebook to engage the students outside of traditional lectures.
Since 2014 we have done systematic piloting together with EdTech Foundry with students and faculty members at BI to find out how students can be engaged in learning activities online also between lectures.
From this work (and more), EdTech Foundry has developed Differ, a tool for course communication. An important part of the work is a chatbot, a robot which triggers students to do more learning activities, which have the potential to increase student learning.
