Foundations of Teaching and Learning at BI

Foundations of Teaching and Learning at BI is BI's professional development courses for lecturers. Attending the course and writing a paper will give you a course sertificate documenting your basic knowledge of pedagogy and teaching. The course is offered both in Norwegian and English.

This course will run for the first time from September 2018. You can sign up for the course by filling in the Motivation Letter and hand it to your head of department. The deadline for signing up is June 8. 

The participants should invest about 200 hours in taking the course, over two semesters. The course will run parallel in English and Norwegian. The course includes face-to-face sessions, group work in course teams outside of course sessions, peer mentoring, self-study, and digital meet-ups.

  • Self-study before the first meeting
  • Two-day seminar at Refsnes Gods, Moss, on September 27-28 (Thursday, Friday)
  • Self-study, group work, peer mentoring and digital meet up
  • One-day seminar in Nydalen on November 15 (Thursday)
  • Self-study, group work, peer mentoring and digital meet up
  • Two-day seminar in Nydalen on February 14-15 (Thursday, Friday)
  • Self-study, group work, peer mentoring and digital meet up
  • One-day seminar in Nydalen on April 11 (Thursday)
  • Deadline portfolio: June 1
