Nordic Centre for Internet and Society

Visiting Ph.D. Student

An essential part of our Centre is our collaborations with partners from other universities and departments, which also creates exciting possibilities for visitors and research stays at the NCIS department.

The Nordic Centre for Internet and Society is a part of a growing team of international researchers. Thus, an essential part of our Centre is our collaborations with partners from other universities and departments. Recently, we have been lucky enough to have (Marie) Madeleine Meurer from EBS University joining us at the NCIS. She will be staying with us for the entire semester, from August until December 2022.

Madeleine Meurer is a visiting Ph.D. student at BI Norwegian Business School and a Doctoral Candidate at EBS University. She will join Jönköping International Business School in January 2023 as a postdoctoral researcher. Madeleine has a background in International Management and Economics. Some of her former research includes studying entrepreneurs and new ventures from various angles (external enablers, optimal distinctiveness theory, and such), using new research methods such as computer-aided text analysis (CATA) or qualitative comparative analysis (QCA).

Madeleine has published in Small Business Economics well before completing her Ph.D. Studies. She is also a reviewer for Small Business Economics and Entrepreneurship & Regional Development. Last, but not least, she received a best paper (runner-up) award at the International QCA PDW as well as a best reviewer award from the Academy of Management Entrepreneurship division. During her studies, Madeleine also founded a non-profit cultural festival in Innsbruck.

We are looking forward to having Madeleine with us this semester!
