Here you'll find an overview of all the different societies in BISO Oslo.

The Societies in BISO Oslo is a great mix between academically and socially oriented groups in a broad spectre.

This is our biggest pool of members in Oslo, and therefore the biggest part of our organization. Here you can engage to evolve academically or build a social network throughout campus.

BI Outdoor

BI Outdoor is a society for all outdoor loving people. We have one goal – not to be the largest, but to be the best group at BI.

The friendships that are created alongside the bonfire, enjoying a meal, and talking about the experien- ces you just had, are the best ones. All BI Outdoor members can participate in our activities, and the nice thing is; everyone can become a BI Outdoor member! We arrange three large weekend trips during the semester, in addition to smaller arrangements in the local area. We promise you experiences you will never forget!

BISO Bathing

BISO Bathing’s purpose is mastering stress through fun and social get-togethers, bathing (temperature therapy) and outdoor activities, welcoming every student whom would like to join.

BISO Case Club

SBIO Case Club is a rapidly developing student association, having existed since 2015.

We regularly conduct case-solving workshops with leading consulting companies such as Bain & Company, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and we are constantly expanding our professional network. Together, we not only practice solving different types of cases, but also learn how to develop effective teamwork, enhance presentation skills, and cope with stress. We invite both Bachelor and Master students to join our enthusiastic team.

BISO Politics

Why should you as a student engage yourself in the student politics? BISO Politics is a staff function and a place for students to raise their voice.

As a member you will work in different departments with different responsibilities. Whether or not you are interested in politics, you will find topics and tasks that is just perfect for you. We work to ensure you get a better student life. You get the chance to influence and learn more about student politics, at the same time as you make new friends and have a good time with us.

Car Society

Car society is a social academic society. In our society we gather students who are interested in cars and the opportunities that lies within the industry, to talk and learn about our common interest. Car society acts as a social meeting point at BI.

DataAnalytisk Utvalg

DataAnalytisk Utvalg’s purpose is to be an academic society for the students at BI and our main goal is to enhance technological skills and knowledge about relevant software.

This is an important quality when entering the job market and we want to help the students learn about relevant software used in businesses in Norway. Our main collaboration partners PwC and Accenture give us insight into the skills they would like business students to obtain and have when applying for jobs. We focus on programming with Python and Excel.

Kollektivet

Kollektivet is a society that wants to give the students at BI the possibility to get to know each other through new and social experiences.

It’s an organ that is open for everyone, and each year we have four big events. Go kart, climbing and RUSH Trampoline Park are just a few examples from the latest events we have arranged.

Macroeconomic Society

Macroeconomic Society (Makroøkonomisk Utvalg) is a society with 50 active students from all the different programmes at BI.

Macroeconomic Society has a shared interest in macroeconomics, but creating a social venue for the students at BI is just as important for us. By being a member of Macroeconomic Society you will get to know many people from different programs, and you will get the opportunity to learn more about macroeconomics.

Start BI

Start BI is a student organization at BI Norwegian Business School who promotes innovation and entrepreneurship through professional and social events.

Start BI is the local team at BI, but Start Norway has local teams spread over the country’s biggest colleges and universities. Start BI wants students at BI to believe in their ideas and knowledge.

Arranging courses, lectures and competitions we aim to show students how to pursue their ideas and knowledge, while creating values. In addition to that, we create meeting places for committed students who are passionate about innovation. Start BI’s goal is that enthusiastic students from BI should have a knowledge that provides the opportunity to go their own way and create something special. This is a golden opportunity to see that starting for themselves is a realistic and possible career path.

Members of Start BI is organized in different event groups, project groups, the HR group and marketing group. All with a focus on spreading the joy of creating, innovation and value creation. With over 520 members in Start Norway, membership in the local team Start BI offers students a unique opportunity to make contacts, be part of a fantastic network of dedicated students and get an entrance into an area of expertise that many consider to be the driving force of Norway’s future.

Stauren Extreme

Stauren Extreme arrange a trip to the Alps every January for BI students.

Our plan is to arrange trips more often in the future, with different activities like surfing, kiting and biking. Our events are for those who are interested in sports, and it is a great opportunity to meet other students and make new friends at BI. 

BI Muslim Student Association (BIMS)

BIMS is a Muslim Student Association at BI Norwegian Business School.

The association was established in 2009 and is working actively to safeguard the interests of Muslims at the campus, but also aims to help students increase their knowledge and help them maintain a balance between religion and studies. Some of the main purposes of BIMS are to increase students understand and knowledge about Islam and create a bridge to the rest of the community. We aim to ensure a better studying environment and satisfaction levels at BI. We offer daily prayers and wudhu facilities in “Room of Faith and Reflections” and are actively involved in managing the room.

Furthermore, we arrange Islamic activities as well as activities that facilitate for creating a good student community across religions and interfaith activities. Everyone with any background is most welcome to participate in our activities.

BISO Business Society

BISO Business Society is a forum for students with a passionate interest in applying their versatile talents. Join us to gain industry insights and access to the networks than can help you become an effective and successful professional.

We aim to promote leadership and education with an international scope at BI. Four distinct areas are covered each semester by the society’s members, namely Innovation Camp; Technology, Industry Focus, Work-Life Balance and the Senior Group. As a member of BISO Business Society you will help organize events open for all BI-students with topics from each of the above mentioned areas. These could be presentations, workshops, debates or case competitions. In addition to this core activity, we arrange business visits, trips abroad and social gatherings for our members. We welcome both bachelor and master students.

SBIO Digital is an exciting society. As a member, you will have the opportunity to learn about wordpress and webdesign.

Furthermore, you can expect to evolve your technical skills through practical experience and courses of high quality. Additionally, you can expect to become a part of a social and eventful environment where you can meet other ambitious students and build a valuable network. Every semester we prepare courses and drop in sessions for our members. At these events you learn about web design and how you can use these skills later in your work life. We also focus on developing our courses so you can learn more every semester. 

BI Investment Group

BI Investment Group (Børsgruppen Aktie) is a society that dates back to when BI Business School was located in Sandvika. Our focus is based on sharing knowledge and interest around the areas of economics and finance.

We have for many years and will continue to, foster a dynamic environment that is rich in knowledge through business presentations as well as we aim to cultivate a broad social network. On our annual trips to cities such as London, Frankfurt and Stockholm we have been hosted by some of the world’s largest companies. E.g. NASDAQ, J.P. Morgan, Bloomberg and ABG Sundal Collier.

Creative Society

Creative Society is a new society which serves the purpose of creating a base for your creative journey at BI, helping you express your creativity and innovation through fashion, art, photography and any other creative passions you may have.

Our goal is to establish a community of creatives at BI who share the same passions and see a need for a creative outlet during their time at the school. We pride ourselves on establishing a safe space for you to explore your creative visions, while simultaneously working towards a common goal with the group – an annual exhibition of art and clothing. The exhibition will showcase everything we make throughout the semester at our workshops, giving you an opportunity to get your art out there. As we ourselves are creatives, we see the value that other creative minded people can bring to the society and are open minded to your input, meaning we will try to implement your creative visions into our projects. We look forward to sharing our social and creative journeys with you!

Eiendomsutvalget

Are you interested in how cities develop and look? Are you looking for a rewarding and valuable membership that is attractive to a future employer? Do you want to know why you should choose commercial real estate as a career?

Eiendomsutvalget is the natural link between students at BI and the commercial real estate industry. Our goal is to inspire and encourage by learning about property investment and development from some of the most influential people in the industry. Our membership offers a combination of a social, professional and an educational platform. As a member of Eiendomsutvalget, you will have a unique opportunity of insights into the real estate industry. You will learn about which job opportunities that exist, which skills are required and how we as future economists can contribute to making visible values and help develop the cities we will live and work in, the next few years.

Gourmetlaget

This scrumptious society wants to connect students across all the academic programs at BI. The last Sunday of the month we meet together in groups and prepare full course meals for each other.

These Sundays is a nice way to take a break from your studies and recharge yourself for the next week. We welcome you who would like to immerse yourself into a group of social students that have a goal of maintaining the position as BI’s most jovial student society.

Logistics Society

Logistics Society is a student organisation consisting of students from both bachelor and master programs, with an interest within logistics and/or supply chain management.

Each semester we arrange two to three academic events together with business representatives, as well as social gatherings. Our goal is to create a network between students at BI and the logistics industry, and provide students with insights to what is actually happening in the field. As a relatively new student organization we have great opportunities for growth, and want you to become a part of our team!

PEIB - Private Equity Investment Banking

Our scope is mostly related to private equity and investment banking, as the name suggests. Private Equity Investment Banking Group is a student group that focuses on giving its members the tools and experience to succeed in this line of work.

We have guest speakers working within different fields of Private Equity and Investment Banking to give our members a holistic view of how it is to work in these types of financial institutions. Our group is dedicated to have good discussions and seminars exploring the world of private equity and investment banking. Applicants are welcome and there are no prerequisites of level of competence within private equity or investment banking. What we do expect is that you show up to our sessions and have a genuine interest in learning about and discussing within our areas of studies.

The Shipping Society is a group where you learn about shipping in different ways. We have companies coming in, telling us what they do, specifically through our annual event: The Shipping day. Everyone can join, we recruit two times a year.

BIMS is a Muslim Student Association at BI Norwegian Business School.
