The Social Security number is an alpha-numerical code assigned by governments of several countries to citizens and temporary workers.
As an educational institution in Norway, we are required to report educational data on our students and course participants to Statistisk sentralbyrå (SSB), ref. § 2-2 in the Statistics Act of 16 June 1989 no. 54. This reporting is based on the use of social security numbers. We also use this to register all our students in our central study administration system. The information from the registration form will be deleted as soon as the information is registered in our study administration system.
