Modifications: Course lists from previous semesters give a good indication on what courses to expect in the coming semesters. However, the courses on offer are subject to constant and continuous change. This reflects our strive to develop our course portfolio and offer courses that are relevant and up to date.
Workload and credits
At BI Norwegian Business School, 30 ECTS make up a full semester workload.
Master level courses are normally 6 ECTS each. For a full semester workload, Master students must choose 5 courses. Master students are also allowed to enroll in Bachelor-level courses.
Bachelor level courses are normally 7,5 ECTS each. For a full semester workload, Bachelor students must choose 4 courses. Bachelor students are not allowed to enroll in Master-level courses.
Prerequisites and course descriptions
Some courses require certain prerequisites. Please read the course descriptions carefully to make sure you meet the prerequisites of each course.
Course descriptions are available through the course lists (follow links above). Course descriptions provide detailed information about the expected learning outcomes, course materials and syllabus, examination and assessment procedures, and required prerequisites of each course.

Bachelor students: Applicants for Bachelor level courses must have completed minimum 60 ECTS before coming to BI.
Master students: Applicants for Master level courses must have completed minimum 180 ECTS (equivalent to a Bachelor degree, minimum three years) in Business (Administration), Management, Economics, Marketing, Finance and/or other relevant subjects before coming to BI. They must also fulfill the general admission requirements to the BI Master of Science Programmes.
Study Abroad agreement
Free Mover applicants must be enrolled in a study programme at a higher education institution abroad. They need a Study Abroad agreement from their home university, confirming that courses from BI will be approved upon return to the home university.
English language requirements
A high level of English proficiency is required of all students at BI. Some non-native English speaking applicants may be required to conduct an English language test. Applicants whose whole study programme is conducted in English are exempt from this. For some applicants, a recommendation and a confirmation of English proficiency from the home university will be sufficient. Please consult the BI International Office for advise.
TOEFL test: minimum score of 550 (213 on the computer-based test and 80 on the Internet-based test)
IELTS test: minimum score of 6.0

Please note that your application is not complete until we have received your supporting documents.
In addition to the online application form, all Free Mover applicants must submit the following documentation in English:
- CV (résumé) and motivation letter
- Copy of the picture page of your passport or EU Identity Card
- Recent academic transcript (Master level applicants: please include your academic transcript from your Bachelor degree in addition to transcripts from Master level courses)
- Study Abroad approval and/or Learning Agreement from your home university
- Documentation of English language skills

Tuition fees for Free Movers are calculated based on the number of courses you take at BI.
Non-EU/EEA applicants: please note that only full-time students are eligible for a study permit in Norway.
Tuition fees 2017-2018
Bachelor-level courses: NOK 9,825 per course of 7,5 ECTS. A normal full-semester workload is 30 ECTS, i.e. NOK 39,300. Students can take maximum 30 ECTS (5 courses) per semester.
Master-level courses: NOK 8,950 per course of 6 ECTS. A normal full-semester workload is 30 ECTS, i.e. NOK 44,750. Master-level students can take Bachelor-level courses as well. Students can take maximum 30 ECTS per semester.
