EndNote

EndNote is integrated with Word and makes it easy to create reference lists based on citations in your document. With EndNote you can collect references to articles, books and other documents you have found in databases in a reference library.

EndNote X8

Must be downloaded and installed on your computer and has more advanced features than EndNote Online. We recommend EndNote X8 to BI employees, researchers and Ph.Ds. This version can also be used by Master students and you can download it from here. Employees can find EndNote X8 in the "Windows Application Catalog".

Getting started with EndNote X8

Recommended reference style - APA 6th

We recommend students to use the author-date system from APA. The English version of the reference style is preinstalled in EndNote X8. The Norwegian translation of the APA style (APA 6th Norsk) must be downloaded and saved in the following Folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\EndNote X8\Styles

EndNote Online

Suitable for both bachelor and master students. This version has the basic features and does not need an installation. You need to register to use the application. EndNote X8 has more advanced features and may be used by master students.

We recommend to use the author-date system from APA. The English (APA 6th) and Norwegian version (APA 6th Norsk) is available in EndNote Online for BI users.

Choose APA 6th Norsk under Select Favorites in EndNote Online:
Format -> Bibliography -> Bibliographic Style -> APA 6th Norsk
