Getting from Oslo airport Gardermoen to the hotel and BI

From Oslo airport to Oslo central station:
The fastest and best way is to use the airport express train Flytoget, it will take you in less than 20 minutes to Oslo central station ("Oslo Sentralstasjon, Jernbanetorget"), while a taxi takes around 50 minutes. You need to purchase a ticket for the airport express train prior to boarding to facilitate reimbursement. There are ticket machines just outside the barriers before descending to the platform.

Note that BI does not reimburse taxis from the airport to the city and does not reimburse Uber rides in Oslo.

From Oslo central station to the hotel, you have two options:

Take a taxi.
The metro (“T-bane”) will take you to the hotel in less than 15 minutes. To get from “Jernbanetorget T” (the subway stop at the central station) to “Nydalen” (the subway stop right in front of BI), you can take:
- Line no. 4 to Vestli via Majorstuen (westbound)
- Line no. 5 to Ringen via Majorstuen (westbound) – not to Sognsvann!
- Line no. 5 to Ringen via Toyen (eastbound) Get off at the stop “Nydalen”.

The conference venue, BI Norwegian Business School, is just 200 meters from the hotel.

Getting to the location of the pre-conference dinner on August 10, 18:00

It takes about 40 minutes to get from BI to the restaurant.
First, take the metro line no. 5 (Vestli via Majorstuen) and exit at the stop “Jernbanetorget”.
Next, take the tram line no. 19 and exit at the stop “Ekebergparken”.
Then, walk for 300 meters: head east on Kongsveien, turn left to stay on Kongsveien, and the restaurant will be on the right

Getting to the location of the conference dinner on August 11, 19:30

Solsiden Restaurant, Akershusstranda 13, Skur 34, 0150 Oslo. Phone: +47 22 33 36 30.
It takes about 30 minutes to get from BI to the restaurant.
First, take the metro line no. 5 to Vestli via Majorstuen or line no. 4 to Bergkrystallen via Majorstua and exit at the stop “Stortinget”.
Next, head west toward Lille Grensen, continue onto Rosengratz’ gate, turn right slightly onto Rolf Strangers plass, and turn left onto Akershusstranda and walk for 400 meters.

WiFi access at BI

There are two ways to obtain WiFi access:

BI offers internet access via eduroam. Select “eduroam” as the network you want to connect to and enter the log-in details which have been provided by your home institution.
Individuals who do not have access to eduroam can use the guest network for 12 hours for up to 3 different devices:
1. Select “BI-Guest” as the network you want to connect to.
2. Enter your cell phone number (foreign mobile numbers require country prefix, e.g., “+1” for the US), accept the terms of use, and click “Register”.
3. Next, you will receive a text message containing your PIN number.
4. After entering your cell phone number as username and the PIN as password, you will have access to WiFi at BI.
5. If the 12 hours are up, you can just repeat the procedure.
