Digital business

Machine Learning

Digitalization creates high speed, high volume digital activity traces – Big Data. This course develops these foundational skills through hands-on experience with cutting edge analytics tools and techniques, and through case discussions designed to reflect on the technical foundations of ML/AI successes and failures and the implications for strategy and leadership.

Design Thinking

Digital organizations excel at rapid-fire development of products and services adapted to user needs. This module, provided in partnership with Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, Germany, provides participants with an intense introduction to Design Thinking. Participants will be
able to apply Design Thinking to digital development and creative problem-solving efforts, as well as critically asses how to apply Design Thinking in different organizational contexts.

Digital Business Models

This course covers digital business models in manufacturing, networks, resource access, and problem-solving businesses as well as digital ecosystems and the business model implications of new technologies such as blockchains and AI. It provides participants with capabilities required to develop and strategically manage both digital transformation of established businesses and create new businesses that arises from digital technologies.

Leading and Organizing Digitally

Participants will learn about how the traditional role of leadership needs to adapt to the changing nature of work in the digital age, agile ways of organizing, how leadership relates to learning and innovation, and how digital technologies, as a value-creating resource, may affect leadership.

Sustainable Business

Green Entrepreneurship and Systems Innovation

This course focuses on how you can develop smart green ideas and make business models for sustainability innovations. We will visit leading Swedish entrepreneurial networks and meet leading impact entrepreneurs, business angels as well as investors. We delve into entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship, how new green ventures go from seed to growth stage - and from start-ups to scale-ups.

Succeeding with Sustainable Growth

This course aims to introduce green growth as the decisive concern for leadership and strategy in the 21st century. We’ll chart the long-term challenges and macro-trends in a world that is increasingly craving sustainable growth. Participants will learn how to set hybrid visions, develop green growth scenarios and acquire the tools for analysing market opportunities for green growth.

Creating and Leading Green Organizations

In this course, we focus on how you can create and lead green organizations, both in terms of co-creating directions for sustainability and mobilizing people. Participants will learn about state-of-the art change management in terms of nurturing a culture of green growth
marked by high levels of engagement, mastery climates and distributed agency. You will will also learn about green finance, climate risk, reporting and work with developing a green business plan.

Global Business

Business in a Global Context

The global pandemic has highlighted challenges facing global organizations where the delivery of products and services are dependent on geographically spread organizational units and global external networks. This course focuses on how to navigate the increasingly
turbulent global business context. We identify key strategic business decisions in a global context and the challenges of organizing and managing global organizations.

Global Business in Asia: A Focus on China

This course focuses on the Asian Business context, with an emphasis on China’s role and influence in the region and global competitive landscape. We discuss the Asian competitive landscape and focus on the growth and internationalization of multinationals from this region. BI has a partnership with Fudan University, where our joint MBA program ranks
among the world’s best part-time MBA programs.

Regional Business Contexts: EU and Latin America

This course exposes you to new business contexts to learn about regional integration as well as EU and Latin American business trends. The content is taught by leading academics at IE, our partner institution in Madrid. This unique experience of physically visiting our partner institution allows participants to tap into local competence and connect with regional businesses.
