PhD candidates admitted to PhD Programmes at other institutions are welcome to take PhD courses at BI.
Apply for PhD courses
Enrolment in a PhD programme is a general requirement for participation in PhD courses at BI Norwegian Business School. We therefore ask that you attach confirmation of enrolment in a PhD programme when signing up for any of our courses.
The student portal @BI contains an overview of the courses BI offers for each of our six specialisations. You will also find an overview of the courses offered during the current semester as well as next semester. If the dates for courses are not published, it means they have not yet been decided. You will find the schedule of available courses under the headline “Courses”. If you click on the course code for each course, you will find the course description.
Candidates may also be allowed to sit in on courses by approval of the course coordinator. Sitting in on courses does not permit registration for courses, handing in exams or gaining credits for the course. Course certificates or confirmation letters will not be issued for sitting in on courses. Please contact the course coordinator if you should wish to sit in on the course, and inform the Doctoral Administration of the decision.
Please note that BI will give priority to its own PhD candidates if the courses look as if they will be fully booked. This is usually the case with our common courses which are compulsory for BI's PhD candidates.
Usually, readings will be provided as a compendium or linked through it's learning. The Doctoral Administration will provide you with a username and password for its' learning.
Lodging, transport and how to get here
