What is a PhD?

The journey to a PhD degree is demanding and requires many hours of study, intense intellectual effort and a strong commitment to become a respected academic professional.

But hard work pays off: 

• You will teach and publish research influencing the way people think and how future businesses will be managed.
• You will be part of one of the most forward thinking and vibrant academic environments and interact with and be challenged by other brilliant minds.

To be considered for the programme you will need at least five years of higher education and hold a two-year research-based Master’s degree from an accredited institution or an institution recognised by NOKUT. Our PhD candidates are temporarily hired by BI, and receive financial support for four years. More on PhD entry requirements here.
