About the Writing Retreat

The Academic Writing Retreat brings together early- and mid-career scholars from the Nordics and other parts of Europe for a joint event to advance research manuscripts, grow professional networks, and motivate cross-national research conversations. The aim of the Academic Writing Retreat is to use dedicated writing time over several days to significantly progress with writing projects in a secluded and supportive environment.

Writing projects can include book chapters, journal articles, grant proposals, or reports. During the retreat, we work based on a set workshop and writing schedule: dedicated writing time paired with scheduled discussions to help generate solutions to writing problems, develop drafts, lead to research-orientated conversations, and provide feedback on the writing in-progress.

The Academic Writing Retreat is organised by Alexander Buhmann (BI) and Sophia Volk (University of Zurich) and is sponsored by #NORA - The Nordic Alliance for Communication & Management.

When and who?

The Academic Writing Retreat 2022 is to be held 12-15 May 2022 in Hannover, Germany. We have registered participants coming from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany and Switzerland. With interest in participation or other inquiries please contact alexander.buhmann@bi.no
