One of the best, and also the most challenging thing about my job, is taking a really complex company and breaking it down to its fundamental components, to understand how the business makes money.
As Joeseph DiRenzo mentions in the video, he participated in the global CFA Institute Research Challenge, and together with his team, they won! They competed against 5000 other students from all over the world. Students are tested on their analytical, valuation, research, reporting, and presentation skills, and gain real-world experience as they assume the role of research analysts.
The students receive hands-on mentoring, and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics from the network of CFA Institute member societies. At BI several faculty members are involved and prep and mentor the students before the challenge.
