Bridging the Academic-Practice Divide
Over the past several decades, I have seen academic business research evolve from focusing on practical problems of organizations to dealing with theoretical issues that are far removed from the day to day of practice. This has occurred as business has become increasingly evidence-based and in need of rigorous research. In this session I will discuss the nature of contemporary business research and why it is so often not actionable, and strategies that academics and practitioners can use to bridge the gap through partnerships.
