The topic for Stubb's visit is geopolitics in the Nordic Region and the relationship between economy and security. The president will be accompanied by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. The event is organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland in Oslo. 

The President's presence at BI is part of his official state visit to Norway from 15-17 October. He will be accompanied by a delegation consisting of representatives from the Finnish business community. After his lecture, Stubb will participate in a panel discussion with Professor Ulf Sverdrup from the Department of Law and Governance at BI and answer questions from students.

Alexander Stubb (1968) is the 13th President of Finland, inaugurated on March 1, 2024. Stubb has held various roles in Finnish politics, including Finance Minister (2015–2016), Minister for Foreign Affairs (2008–2011) and Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade (2011–2014). He has also served as Prime Minister of Finland (2014–2015).

Stubb took on the position as Vice-President of the European Investment Bank and later became a Professor and Director of the School of Transnational Governance in Italy. Stubb has authored several books on international politics and the European Union and obtained his PhD in International Relations from London School of Economics and Political Science.
