Study at BI

Housing

BI is proud to offer a housing guarantee for international students. In cooperation with our housing providers, international students can choose from several different housing locations.

Pre-application for housing

International students at BI must submit the pre-application form and apply directly to their chosen housing provider by 1 May (autumn semester intake) and 1 October (spring semester intake) to be guaranteed accommodation.

The BI housing guarantee

International students coming to BI will be guaranteed housing only if all deadlines and requirements are met, and the pre-application fee of 1250 NOK is paid.

If you are subject to a rejection letter from BI or a rejected visa application, the 1250 NOK fee will be returned to you. Therefore, please apply before you get your acceptance letter and/or visa.

Deadlines for students coming to study

  • Spring semester: 1st of October (pre-application form opens for registration on 2nd of September, 1 pm Norwegian time)
  • Autumn semester: 1st of May (pre-application form opens for registration on 15th of February, 1 pm Norwegian time)

Please note:

The Pre-Application form is for international students starting at BI and coming to Norway for the first time.

Please use a computer and not a phone when completing the form.

Have your credit card ready when starting the application. Online payment of the fee (1250 NOK) is required to complete the registration. Do not refresh or leave the web page while making a payment.

After submitting the pre-application form, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions from the BI Housing Office. Please follow these instructions carefully to keep your guaranteed housing.

Submit your pre-application

I have completed the Pre-Application form – now what?

Now that you have chosen your housing provider, you must follow the instructions received from the BI housing office and apply directly to your housing provider by the deadline (1 May for students starting in the autumn and 1 October for students starting in the spring).

After your chosen housing provider gives you an offer for a room, you must accept this offer. You will only receive one offer, so if it is not accepted, you will lose your housing guarantee.

If you experience any problems with the pre-application form, please contact BI. If you experience any problems with payment of the 1250 NOK fee, please contact your credit card company.
