After submitting the pre-application form, you will receive an e-mail from BI with the further instructions. Please follow our instructions carefully. As long as you follow the steps and apply directly to your provider, you will be guaranteed housing.
-
In order to be guaranteed housing, students must apply through the pre-application form for housing and pay the 1250 NOK fee. Applying independently, outside of BI`s housing guarantee means your application will not be prioritized by BI's housing partners. Essentially, your name goes on the list with every other student applying for housing in Oslo and they normally have a very long waiting list.
-
BI's Housing guarantee only covers single rooms. However, we usually have a few rooms for couples in Anker Housing. You must select Anker on your pre-application form, if you need housing for couples.
-
In our agreement (guaranteed room) with our housing partners, we do not have any family rooms. The couple rooms in Anker are not suitable for more than two people. You can try to apply directly to SiO/BSN for a family room on your own, but this would be outside BI`s housing guarantee.
-
When you receive your housing contract from your chosen housing provider, you will receive information from them regarding your housing contract and how to pay your deposit and rent.
-
Your chosen housing provider will inform you about how you can obtain your keys. If you arrive outside the regular opening hours you need to contact your housing provider directly to arrange the pick-up.
-
After you apply through the pre-application form, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from BI. This confirmation can be used as a certificate of confirmation for UDI.
-
Yes, you should submit your pre-application. Otherwise, you risk not having a housing guarantee. If you do not get admitted to BI or are denied a study permit, BI will refund the pre-application fee.
-
You can pay your housing invoices to one of BI`s housing partners from your SiO account. In order to do so you need to complete a withdrawal from deposit form located on the student portal. Forward the form plus your invoice to info@bi.no. BI's financial services will pay your invoice as soon as possible.
-
The housing pre-application fee allows BI to reserve rooms with our housing providers, so your housing can be prioritized.
