Centre for Corporate Governance Research

The CCGR aims to produce high-quality research on how ownership and governance of firms impact value-creation and the welfare of firms’ stakeholders.

The Centre for Corporate Governance Research (CCGR) was founded in 2005. It is located at BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo, Norway.

The CCGR is a virtual organization directed by professor Charlotte Ostergaard with the personal support of William Birkeland. Associate professor Janis Berzins is the academic lead for the infrastructure of the CCGR data base, which is managed on a daily basis by Ivar Otto Ekker at BI’s IT Department. The financing of the CCGR comes from the business community, the Research Council of Norway, and from BI.

The CCGR Council has members appointed by BI . The Council's role is advisory. It gives feedback on the practical relevance of the research proposals, creates networks to the business community, helps targeting financing sources, and ensures that the activities of the CCGR are consistent with its mission and strategy.

The current members of the CCGR Council are Leiv Askvig (Sundt; chair), Morten Bergesen (Havfonn), Morten Borge (Ferd), Eilert G. Hanoa (Kahoot), Frederik Selvaag (Selvaag Gruppen), Christen Sveaas (Kistefos), Camilla Hagen Sørli (Canica) and Thomas Wilhelmsen (Wilh. Wilhelmsen Holding ASA).
