BI Internship Bachelor
BI Internship is a credit-bearing elective, where students work 240 hours part-time in a company over the course of one semester.
The objective with the internship program is to give students the opportunity combine work experience with studies in a manner that enhances their learning in both situations. The business community gets access to updated academic knowledge, able hands and the opportunity to address their needs for new knowledge as they prepare the internship activities for their interns.

- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) (Taught in English)
- Bachelor of Data Science for Business (Taught in English)
- Creative Industries Management

BI Internships during the autumn semester are supposed to start in week 34 (+/- two weeks). The student is supposed to work 240 hours at the company over the course of the semester (approx. 15 weeks).

Companies that wish to offer a BI Internship need to show a willingness for mutual learning and development. In order to participate as partners in the BI Internship course, companies must fullfill certain requirements:
- The company needs to be established – this means minimum 3 years of operation, a minimum of 5 employees and 5 million NOK in revenues
- Not a sole proprietorship
- A company contact person that will be responsible for following-up the student and keep in contact with BI
- Make it possible for the student to attend four academic sessions at BI
- Fill out and sign the Learning Contract
- Sign the "end of internship”-confirmation

The student needs an average GPA of C or above, and adequate study progression. The student is responsible for finding an internship company, make sure the learning contract is signed and thereafter apply to BI for admission in the BI Internship course.

The tasks are defined by what the company needs and the student's competence. Examples can be: Market analyses, strategy development, customer follow-up, reporting, analyses, recruiting and accounting.

BI Internship Bachelor is a credit-bearing course and the company is not allowed to pay the student.

- The learning contract is the basis for BI to recognize the internship as a credit-bearing Bachelor course for the student.
- The contract must include a description of tasks corresponding to the expectations for internships on Bachelor level, and is signed by the company and the student.
- The student submits the contract for final approval by BI.
- At the end of the internship period, the company must submit an «end of internship confirmation» form.

Before the internship
- Define clear tasks and projects
- Appoint a contact the intern can turn to for feedback, input regarding tasks/projects and social inclusion.
- Talk about expectations:
- Professional contribution, amount of autonomy, deadlines, code of conduct and how to solve conflicts if they arise. - Explain the work culture
During the internship
- Set up regular feedback meetings, i.e. weekly:
- Are expectations met on both sides?
- How are the tasks/projects going?
- Does the intern feel like a part of the working environment?
Post-internship
- Complete the company completion/evaluation form
- Provide intern with a letter of recommendation
- Volunteer to be a reference
HOW TO RECRUIT STUDENTS?
Companies that wish to be contacted by students can announce their BI Internship position via the BI Career Portal. Students must reach out to the companies themselves, and the companies conduct their preferred recruitment process before a learning contract is completed and signed by the student(s) and the company.
Finally, students apply for admission to the BI Internship course with the learning contract to BI. It is the companies’ and students’ responsibility to get acquainted with the requirements BI has to both parties.

BI Internship is an elective and the students have to apply for admission in the course. Therefore, the recruitment processes and learning contract needs to be ready by these dates:
- 1 May for the bachelor programmes in Bachelor of Data Science for Business, Creative Industries Management, Digital kommunikasjon og markedsføring, Eiendomsmegling, jus og økonomi, Entreprenørskap, Finans, Markedsføringsledelse, Organisasjonspsykologi, HR og ledelse, Retail Management, Økonomi og administrasjon, Økonomi og forretningsjus.
- 1 November for Bachelor in Siviløkonomi og Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA).
