At BI, we have a tradition of awarding honorary doctorates to individuals of exceptional distinction. As part of BI's 80th anniversary in 2023, we were pleased to announce three new Honorary Doctorates. One of the recipients was Professor Kathryn E. Spier. While circumstances prevented us from formally recognizing her at that time, we are pleased to announce that Professor Spier will visit BI in September and deliver a keynote at the European Association of Law & Economics 42nd Annual Conference.
All BI employees are invited to attend her keynote lecture and join us in celebrating her achievements and contributions to the fields of law and economics.
Kathryn Spier is a professor of Law at Harvard Law School. She is an interdisciplinary researcher with work experience both in law and economics, but also in management and strategy. Spier has published in top journals in economics and has an impressive publication record. Her research covers areas such as economics of litigation, contracts, tort law, antitrust and business organisation.
With BI’s launch of its bachelor’s and master’s programmes in Law back in 2023, Kathryn is a role model and source of inspiration for both faculty and students, as well as the wider international academic community.
