Inge Jan Henjesand announced as new President at BI Norwegian Business School

The Board of Trustees has today appointed Inge Jan Henjesand as President for the fixed term period 1 Aug, 2014 – 1 Aug, 2018. Henjesand comes from the position as director of research, innovation and industrial policy in the NHO-association Abelia.

The Board of Trustees is very pleased that Henjesand has accepted the position, referring to the unanimous recommendation of the Nomination Committee.

- Inge Jan Henjesand has management experience from both academia and the Business Association of Norwegian knowledge -and technology based enterprises, Abelia. He has also strong networks within the Norwegian business, research and education community. In Henjesand, the Board of Trustees believes that BI will have a unifying person who will build on BIs strong performance and results in the years to come, says Chairman Terje Venold.

Henjesand is pleased to accept the position. 

- I know BI well, and am really looking forward to taking on the task as the new President over the summer.  I will focus on the entire organization and will emphasize the importance of developing BI in a competitive sector. Over the last years, BI has achieved amazing results both academically and marketwise, something I look forward to developing together with all skilled staff and students at BI, says Inge Jan Henjesand.

President Tom Colbjørnsens second and final term of office expires on 1 August 2014.

Short summary:
Inge Jan Henjesand is doctorate in economics from NHH in 1996 with professional background in marketing, strategy and management. Henjesand had key leadership positions at BI in the period 1998 - 2007, as head of the Department of Marketing, Executive Vice President of Research and Academic Resources and as Provost and Acting President.

Henjesand comes from a position as Vice Chairman and Director of research, innovation and industrial policy in Abelia, a position he has held since 2008. Henjesand can point to a number of boards, committees and committee work, and most of these are related to the education, college, university - and the research sector.
