BI students attractive in global job market

Master of Science students from BI Norwegian Business School in Business Analytics, Business, Marketing and Finance are in high demand among international employers, according to QS Business Masters Rankings 2022.

BI’s MSc in Business Analytics makes its debut on the ranking as number 30 out of 120 programs, MSc in Finance is ranked 43 out of 150 programmes, MSc in Business 31 out of 158 programmes and MSc in Marketing 25 out of 50 programmes.

All programmes receive solid scores on the ranking’s most important indicator, employability, which is based on a survey among employers to select the schools that they prefer to hire graduates from.

“One of BI’s greatest strengths is our ability to offer research-based education by addressing real business challenges. A variety of learning tools and regular interaction with the business community ensure that students acquire relevant work experience and networks early in their studies, “says Inge Jan Henjesand, President at BI Norwegian Business School.

Employers across all sectors and industries take part in the survey, including well-known companies such as Facebook, Google, Uber, Wells Fargo, Bank of America etc.

The employability indicator, which counts for 30 to 35 percent of the total score, is a scale up to 100. BI’s MSc programmes range between 72,1 and 77,5, placing them alongside other high ranked programmes from top international business schools.

Range of criteria

The Business Masters Rankings 2022 highlight the best graduate masters programs across the world and ranks more than 500 programs this year from over 40 countries, with many more were analyzed.

A total of 13 criteria form the basis of five key indicators that programs were ranked on: ‘employability’ (30-35%), ’alumni outcomes’(15-20%), ‘value for money’(20%), ‘thought leadership’ (20%) and ‘class & faculty diversity’(10%).

Facts:

  • To be included in the Business Masters Rankings 2022, the program must be taught mainly on-campus (i.e. not distance-learning), be taught full-time (or and have an average class size of at least 15 students.
  • All schools must be accredited by either AACSB, AMBA, EFMD (EQUIS).
  • This is the fifth time BI is ranked by QS Masters rankings.
  • The backbone of the rankings is the QS Global Employer Survey, which asks employers to select the schools that they prefer to hire from. The Survey has now been running over 20 years.
  • Between 2016-2020, QS collected hundreds of thousands of university and business school nominations from nearly 40,000 global employers to the QS Global Employer Survey.
